Geoffrey H. Short lives in Auckland, New Zealand. He graduated Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) with first class honours from the University of Auckland in 2009 and was awarded a Senior Prize in Fine Arts. Work from his graduate show was selected for the survey exhibition and book "reGeneration² – tomorrow's photographers today" produced by the Musée de l'Elysée, Lausanne, Switzerland in 2010 and currently touring internationally. He was nominated for the inaugural Lacoste Elysée Photography Prize in 2010, and work made for the prize was exhibited in Miami and Milan.
In 2011, apart from the reGeneration² touring show, Short has exhibited in London, Wellington, Pingyao and Paris.
Short’s work is held in permanent collections at the Musée de l'Elysée, Switzerland; Michaelis School of Fine Art Collection, South Africa; Aperture Foundation, U.S.A.; Museum of New Zealand; Auckland Art Gallery, New Zealand and Waikato Museum, New Zealand.
