I have worked many times in Scotland and love the varying lighting conditions that change on a regular basis. I am at home on the islands of Scotland and Islay, in particular, has drawn me back on a number of occasions. This particular image is part of a much larger body of work and was shot on a spring morning at around 8a.m. There wasn’t a breath of air, as you can see, and the stillness and serenity was also echoed by the very simple composition. It is an image I love because of its calming qualities.
